Description: Universally acknowledged as a masterpiece and a milestone in modern perfumery history, F'minit' du Bois was Serge Lutens's original creation for the Japanese brand Shiseido in 1992. Serge Lutens, who had yet to launch his Les Salons du Palais Royal eponymous line, had requested the Shiseido staff to follow him to his abode in Marrakech where the trade of the prized cedar wood from the Atlas mountains is still going strong. His desire was not to create a perfume with cedar but "to capture the emotion of that wood". In that direction he devised a fantastic and characteristially Lutensian mix of spices and caramelised dried fruits to accompany it, which evoke a Cleopatra sensibility and murky sensuality. Today, F'minit' du Bois has found its true home among the eponymous line by Lutens in the same long, architectural bottle as the rest. An artistic triumph for anyone who appreciates true art and the mother of all Lutens fragrances.
